what matters?

Reproductions from my photo book "what matters?"

Reflecting an intense conversation that I had with the portuguese researcher and astrophysicist Carlos J.A.P. Martins I took images that function predominantly on an associative intuitive level. We were talking about topics like the beginning and evolving of our universe, phenomena in astrophysics research that can only be investigated indirectly, problems caused by light pollution and the aspects of technology that we became more and more depend on.

My series explores the possibility of going onto a photography mind trip - lead by associations that are inspired by very few, poetic quotes from Carlos. The arrangement of photos on the different pages is an allusion to a mind board where you can only see fragments of. Images appear in front of your eyes like thoughts, fleeting - at times intangible, sometimes only on the periphery.
